  • The 2020 Hyundai Venue has a starting price of $18,345 for the base SE model with a six-speed manual transmission.
  • Pricing ranges up to $23,145 for the loaded SEL model with optional Convenience and Premium packages.
  • The 2020 Venue will reach Hyundai dealerships starting at the end of November.

The 2020 Hyundai Venue will carry the title of the cheapest crossover on the market when it goes on sale later this month, as it starts at $18,345 for the base SE model with a six-speed manual transmission. That undercuts competitors such as the Kia Soul, which is $190 more expensive, and the Nissan Kicks, which is $1340 more. (It's important to note that the Kicks comes standard with an automatic transmission, which costs $1200 extra on the Venue and $1500 extra on the Soul.)

The Venue essentially replaces the discontinued Accent hatchback within Hyundai's lineup and is now the second-cheapest Hyundai you can buy, after the $16,125 Accent sedan. It's powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 121 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard across the board, and the Venue's aforementioned optional automatic transmission is a continuously variable unit (CVT).

Standard features for the base-model Venue SE are fairly generous and include an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, and driver-assist features such as automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist. Other trim levels include the $20,245 Venue SEL and the $23,045 Venue Denim that comes with special interior and exterior trim pieces. There are also Convenience and Premium packages available for the SEL that add features such as a sunroof, blind-spot monitoring, heated front seats, LED headlights, proximity entry and pushbutton start, and 17-inch wheels.

Hyundai says the Venue will be going on sale at the end of November.
